Privacy policy
Updated: June 27th 2026
At Spin It Proud, we provide a curated shopping experience (the "Services"). Because we are powered by Shopify, we can offer a secure vault for your collection. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit, make a purchase, or use our "You Spin It, We Stock It" request service.
Personal Information We Collect
We collect information that identifies or can be linked to you. This includes:
- Contact Details: Name, shipping address, billing address, and email address.
- Financial Information: Transaction details and payment confirmations. Note: Payment card numbers are processed securely by our providers like PayPal or Klarna; we do not store these.
- Transaction Information: Items you view, add to your cart, or purchase, including your order history.
- You Spin It, We Stock It Data: Details of specific records you have asked us to source for you.
- Device & Usage Info: Automatically collected data about your browser, IP address, and how you navigate the store, via cookies.
How We Use Your Personal Information
We use your data to provide a service, specifically:
- Fulfillment: To perform our contract with you, process payments, and get your records safely into a Pride Protector.
- Monthly Newsletter: If you opt-in, we use your email for our Monthly Update. We promise no more than one marketing email per month.
- Cart Reminders: Occasionally, we send a follow-up if you leave records in your cart without checking out.
- You Spin It, We Stock It: To notify you if we successfully source a record you’ve requested. This is a service-specific use of your data.
- Security: To detect and prevent fraudulent activity, ensuring a safe shopping experience.
- Legal Reasons: To comply with UK tax laws and regulatory requirements.
How We Disclose Personal Information
We do not sell your data. We disclose information only to partners who help us run the shop:
- Shopify: Our platform provider, which processes data to improve and secure the Services.
- Service Providers: Payment processors (PayPal/Klarna) and shipping partners (Royal Mail).
- Legal Compliance: When required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of our customers.
Your Relationship with Shopify
As our host, Shopify collects and processes information to provide the technical "engine" of our store. In some cases, Shopify acts as a data controller for enhanced features. You can learn more about how they handle your data at the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.
International Transfers
As we use Shopify, your data may be stored or processed outside of the UK (for example, in Canada or the USA). When this happens, we rely on recognised transfer mechanisms, such as the UK’s Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure your data remains protected.
Security and Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as necessary to maintain your account, fulfil orders, or comply with legal records (such as UK tax requirements). While we use robust security, please remember that no system is 100% impenetrable.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you have the following rights regarding your data:
- Right to Access & Correct: Request a copy of your data or ask us to fix inaccuracies.
- Right to Delete: Request that we "clear the store” and delete your personal info.
- Objection to Processing: Ask us to stop using your data for certain purposes.
- Withdrawal of Consent: You can opt-out of our monthly newsletter or cart reminders at any time using the link in the email.
