Refund policy
We want you to love every spin of your new record. We curate the Spin It Proud collection with care, but we know that sometimes things don’t go to plan. If you need to return an item, please follow the instructions below.
How to Start a Return
As a small online store, we process all returns manually. To return an item, please email us at hello@spinitproud.co.uk with:
- Your order number.
- The reason for the return.
- A photo of the item (This helps us verify the condition and speed up the approval process for you).
Important: Do not return items to the address on your package without contacting us first. Once we have communicated, we’ll provide you with the correct return instructions and address.
Cancellations & Administrative Fees
As a small independent business, we incur non-refundable transaction fees from payment providers such as PayPal and Klarna immediately upon order placement. Unlike larger retailers, we are unable to recover these fees if an order is cancelled or returned.
The Admin Fee: An administrative fee of 5% of the total order value, with a minimum of £2.00 per item, will be charged for all cancelled or “change of mind” returns. This fee helps cover manual admin, restocking, and credit card processing costs.
The Full Value Exchange: If you’d like to avoid these fees, we’re happy to offer an exchange for a Gift Card worth 100% of your order’s total value, which can be used on your next purchase.
Pre-Order Allocations
On rare occasions, a label may "cut" our allocation of a limited release. If we cannot fulfil your pre-order due to supplier stock issues, we will notify you and issue a full refund immediately.
Change of Mind (14-Day Window)
In line with UK Consumer Contracts, you have 14 days from the date your record arrives to decide whether it's the one for you.
- The Sealed Rule: To keep our collection “Mint Grade," we only accept returns if the record is unopened and still in its original factory seal. Once the shrink wrap or seal is broken, the item is no longer eligible for return.
- The Seamless Shipping Exception: If you requested our “Seamless Shipping Option” (in which we unseal the record for you), the item is considered unsealed and therefore ineligible for a change-of-mind return.
- Return Shipping: You are responsible for paying the cost of returning items. We strongly suggest using a tracked shipping service, since we cannot refund items that are lost in the post.
Faulty or Damaged Records
If your record arrives with a technical fault (such as a constant skip or severe warp) or is damaged during its journey:
- Email hello@spinitproud.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery.
- Include photos of the damage or a short video of the fault.
- Please note: If the outer packaging (The Pride Protector) is visibly damaged upon delivery, please take a photo of the box before opening it. This helps us hold the courier accountable.
We will provide a prepaid return label and issue a full refund or, if stock is available, a replacement. In these cases, no admin fees will apply.
